Science Operator

The Science Operator was responsible for operation of the drillship, JOIDES Resolution, and associated activities of cruise staffing, logistics, engineering development and operations, shipboard laboratories, curation and distribution of core samples and data; publication of scientific results; and assisting with ODP public relations. On board the ship, ODP-TAMU maintained the laboratories and provided technical and logistical support for shipboard scientific teams. On shore, ODP-TAMU managed scientific and drilling activities before and after each cruise, curated the cores, distributed samples, edited and published scientific results, and provided administrative and logistical support for all these activities.
